If you would like to clear or reset ZeroTier’s address on a device (the 10-digit address node ID) or you have cloned a device and you want to prevent it from using the same address, follow these instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Stop the service.\n
      \n
    1. On Windows<\/strong> this is done with the service manager. (Open the Start Menu and start typing “service”)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. On Mac<\/strong> you can open a terminal and useStop Mac Service<\/strong>sudo<\/code> launchctl unload <\/code>\/Library\/LaunchDaemons\/com<\/code>.zerotier.one.plist<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. On Linux<\/strong> this is usuallysudo<\/code> systemctl stop zerotier-one<\/code>orsudo<\/code> service zerotier-one stop<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Delete the files\u00a0identity.public<\/code>\u00a0and\u00a0identity.secret<\/code>\u00a0from ZeroTier’s working directory.\n

      1. On Windows<\/strong> this is usually \"\\ProgramData\\ZeroTier\\One\"<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. On\u00a0Mac<\/strong>\u00a0this is\u00a0\"\/Library\/Application Support\/ZeroTier\/One\"<\/code>.\n

        1. in your terminal, type open \/Library\/Application Support\/ZeroTier\/One<\/code> to open the folder in Finder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. On Linux<\/strong> this is usually \"\/var\/lib\/zerotier-one\"<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Restart the service\n

          1. starting via the service manager on Windows<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. On Mac<\/strong>sudo<\/code> launchctl load <\/code>\/Library\/LaunchDaemons\/com<\/code>.zerotier.one.plist<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. On Linux<\/strong>sudo<\/code> systemctl start zerotier-one<\/code>orsudo<\/code> service zerotier-one start<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            When started without identities ZeroTier will generate new ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
